Once upon a time…..
My ideas run everywhere. I once did some thinking, if I was hired in some game company as a designer, it’d likely be a western company and I won’t be able to go ahead and make some random Japanese styled RPG out of the blue would I? Well I wouldn’t know, but well I did some thinking. I’d make a Third Person Shooter or something.
Basically the gist is a crossover of Fairy Tales, Aesop’s Fables and of course, poking fun at Marvel and DC as well as taking a shit on Japanese stuff.
The story would be about a certain secret organization of sorts. Something like the MI6 or something. Basically this organization would be the ‘Good Guys’ organization. The agents would be the protagonist’s of various Fairy Tales and the like. They’d receive their orders from a room in a roach infested motel. From a TV displaying some Pop-Art styled man. He’d issue orders and the agents will get a key from the receptionist to enter designated rooms containing their equipment.
Agent Hood. The main character. The Fairy Tale counterpart would be the Little Red Riding Hood. An agent with an ambiguous gender, although I’d likely make it a him, since with games, we need voices.
An all rounder combatant with some specialization in close quarters and high speed combat. Signature weapon is a pair of machetes. He should be able to use whatever he picks up. He’d generally be issued with a MP7 sidearm and a solid assault rifle like the HK416 or FN SCAR.
The game will start with you receiving your orders to deliver a special chip to Agent Grandma to revive a weapons facility’s defense systems, which is currently being besieged by the Big Bad Wolf’s army.
So he gets a chopper ride over a forest and is dropped in the middle of a forest where he has to trek all the way to the facility and fight through an army of wolfmen. And of course rendezvous with the Woodcutter, who would be a very big, very muscular and very naked Scotsman equipped with a machine gun in one hand(M249 or something I suppose) and a chainsaw in the other.
Agent Grandma would be….. at first I was gonna have the normal old woman but I was thinking of a brain in a tank now.
The long ranged, recon and sniping specialist Alice. Of course her Fairy Tale counterpart would be Alice from Alice in Wonderland. She’d be the only(probably…) anime styled character. And there’d be jokes about how sending 14 year old Japanese girls gets any job done. Primary equipment would be a H&K MSG-90. Depending on the situation, she’d get a Barett XM500 as well. Her sidearm would probably be a FiveseveN or a UCP. Or if I want to go stylish, a Derringer or some WWII era Mauser or something. A combat knife rounds it up.
A Gothic Lolita who is more functional than other combat lolis. She packs a flak jacket of sorts and wears a frilly mantle over it. Combat boots, stockings and frilly skirt…
She’d be sent to assassinate the Queen of Cards. And you as Agent Hood would have to assist her. The Queen of Cards is the head of a criminal syndicate. Under some Casino wonderland, theres illegal arms smuggling and all kinds of other illegal things happening. Illegal Super Soldier research and things. And a drug factory. Led none other by the Mad Hatter whos a short little… leprechaun. Who smokes pot and starts bouncing everywhere and beats you with his walking cane. The Queen of Cards throws razor sharp cards and telekinetically controls them to block bullets. And of course summons Card Soldiers.
Peter Pan would be like a Marvel styled faced dude who flies around in a flying suit of Power Armour called FAIRY DUST. Or something. And he’d lead a squad of men to battle Captain Hook’s transforming super battle ship…. ah whatever. Lets just leave it at that for now eh?
